One thing is for certain when it comes to the RGF – we are truly blessed with some amazing, kind-hearted, and generous supporters.
Tom Bryan approached us back in March with the exciting news that he was getting married to Steph later in the year and that rather than just requesting gifts, he and Steph would prefer a donation to the RGF. Tom attended CRGS with Rob and has very fond memories of sharing a cricket field with him (and all the Georges!).
Well, Tom and Steph finally tied the knot on 7th May! Tom told us: “We got very lucky with the weather. It stopped drizzling as the guests arrived, and then we had wonderful sunshine in the afternoon. It made our day even more special to know that we were contributing to such an amazing cause. We are so thrilled and grateful that our family and friends raised circa £1100. It is impossible not to be moved by the story of Rob’s determination and fight, which were characteristics he showed on the cricket pitch many times for the CRGS team.”
Pip George, Rob’s dad, and Chairman of the RGF responded, saying: “Lorraine and I are very touched that Tom and Steph marked their happy day in this way. We are not so very far away from the tenth anniversary of Rob’s death, and it means so much to us that Rob is still remembered so fondly by so many of his friends.”
