Some exciting news from RGF grantee, Becca – “I’m so pleased to tell you that after some hard training sessions, I attended the British Karate Federation 4 Nations Championships in Leicester last weekend and I can now announce, (drum roll, please!)… I’m a British bronze medallist! I’m so happy with my performance. A few years ago this was a dream to hold an individual title at this level – Now a dream come true. This wouldn’t have been achievable if it wasn’t for the continued support from my mum, my coaches and The Rob George Foundation – thank you!
Becca went on to say: “I started karate at the age of 7 and initially I wasn’t very good at it. With determination, training and self-belief I started to win medals. I usually train for karate 3-4 days a week ranging from 4-7 hours a week, and I absolutely love it!
Thanks to the Rob George Foundation I’ve been able to travel to training and competitions up and down the county. I’ve also managed to attend seminars with top karate athletes such as Horuna and Junior Lufevre who are huge karate athletes. This has been extremely helpful especially as karate is a self-funded sport. I couldn’t have done it without them.”
We all wish Becca continued success!
