Just take a look at the photos and see for yourself how Mia has been training hard over the last few months. We are delighted to share with you her latest update.
Mia said: “Thank you very much for your support over the past year. The grant from the RGF has made a real difference to me throughout lockdown. I have attached some pictures of me training and wearing my RGF t-shirt too.
It has been a hard 12 months, but I have been training hard throughout the lockdown and am now looking forward to being back racing again this summer. Training alone over the past year has been hard especially though the cold winter months.
Thanks to the support from the RGF I was able to purchase a turbo trainer which enabled me to train on my bike inside and race and ride virtually with other athletes. Being able to cycle on the turbo has had a huge impact on my training especially when restrictions have been tight, and it has been snowy and icy outside.
I was due to race in the European and World triathlon championships in 2020 but they have been postponed until later in 2021 which I have already qualified for. As well as these races I am hoping to race in the British elite championship series throughout the summer.
I have started my 2021 season with a win and a second place at the first two races. My next race is my first senior elite race which I am excited to race in a couple of weeks.
I would like to thank the Rob George Foundation for supporting me over the past year, it has been hard with lots of uncertainty and races being cancelled so knowing I have your support has made a difference. I am excited and proud to be able to represent RGF at races soon and see what I can achieve.
Thank you again for your support”
Everyone at the RGF wishes you every success for the 2021 season and beyond!
