Talented sprinter, Segun, a member of the British Athletics Future Paralympics Academy has been in touch with an update on his progress:
“I really became interested in athletics in 2020 and it soon became apparent that funding was not that good. But I loved running so much I persevered only to then be hit, like everyone else, with lockdowns. No gyms and no access to running tracks really hit me hard and I had to train on grass, hills, football pitches; anywhere I could find! Anyway, I kept pushing myself and believing in a positive future and applied to the Rob George Foundation to help me through the 2022 season.
Things are now changing for me. The RGF agreed to support me, and I can now go on training camps, buy new kit, enter competitions. The RGF believed in me and have eased my financial situation so I can focus on performing to the best of my ability and look to fulfil my potential to become a top athlete – Thank you RGF!”
