Leukaemia halts degree course

Grant awarded on 25th March 2015

Imagine…

…aged 20, you are about to return to Edinburgh University for the third year of your law degree when you are diagnosed with leukaemia.  You obviously have to stop your course for treatment and you are no longer entitled to draw your student loan, so you are penniless.  It’s a 60 mile round trip to hospital and your mum can’t afford to visit.

Your support has made a difference…

The RGF is providing mum with travel expenses to help her visit and support her daughter.  Click this story header to find out more.

We have also provided funding so that a proper nutritious diet can be maintained at home for this family under crisis.  Alongside this, we have helped purchase law books so that this young student can continue to study, before hopefully returning to complete her degree.
