With the Paris 2024 Olympic starting next Friday we thought we’d proudly shine the spotlight on Zak Perzamanos who along with Lewis Richardson, is RGF’s second grantee attending the games.
Zak took the time to share with us his story.
“In 2015, the Rob George Foundation helped fund my attendance at the World Age Group Championships. I competed in double mini trampoline and trampoline, finishing fifth and second and earning a medal. Without RGF’s support, I may not have got there!
Since then, I’ve become part of Team GB and competed in several World Age Group Championships. My senior debut at the 2021 World Championships in Baku was a game-changer. I finished ninth and realised my potential.
I participated again in 2022, but 2023 was huge: three World Cups and a World Championship. Highlights included a bronze medal in Palm Beach and qualifying for the Paris Olympics by finishing in the top eight at the World Championship in Birmingham!
2024 began with two more World Cups and the European Championships. My synchro partner Corey and I became European champions in synchro – a massive achievement!
Being selected for Team GB is incredible. This was just a dream in 2015. The RGF’s support made my journey possible, and my family and I are eternally grateful.
To everyone at the Rob George Foundation, we can’t thank you enough!”
