The RGF provides grant for rising basketball star and future GB hopeful – Brandon Marshall, a 16 year old from Bury St. Edmunds, has secured a spot at the Colchester Basketball Academy for this upcoming season. Having recently participated in the Welsh National team trials, Brandon, standing at 7 feet tall, looks to pursue his sporting dream of becoming a top basketball player. Honours thus far for him include playing for the U-18 Welsh National team (two years younger), and East Region select team at the U16 level.
His ultimate goal is to attend an American University to continue his basketball career, with a future eye on playing professionally and internationally.
The move to Colchester Basketball Academy has provided Brandon with an opportunity to pursue his dream, but due to the athlete’s being self-funded, there was a financial implication that needed to be met by his family, for travel and living expenses away from home.
This award from the Rob George Foundation has been a massive help to Brandon as it will go towards his financial commitments this season. Brandon and his family are truly grateful for the opportunities that the grant has provided and know that it will be a massive support as he continues to work hard at accomplishing his sporting dreams.
The RGF are right behind you Brandon!
