On 26 February we celebrated a special dinner at Colchester Institute, along with 51 diners. The evening was made even more special by the fact that we could watch our dinner being prepared via a live feed from the kitchen to the restaurant! Colchester Institute students – who are all studying hospitality courses – waited on tables, serving up some absolutely delicious food. In fact, not a crumb was returned to the kitchen!
Our speaker for the evening was the actor, Carli Norris, who has played roles in the BBC’s series, Doctors, Eastenders and, more recently, the Channel 4 series, Hollyoaks. A raffle had been organised by the students, who had approached local businesses asking for donations of prizes. In total, the evening raised £1175 towards the work of the Rob George Foundation.
Our thanks go to everyone who made the evening such a success. We very much hope that this is one event we can repeat in the future.
