A big RGF thank you to Colchester Round Table 367 for selecting the RGF to be their chosen charity on one of their Santa’s Sleigh Christmas collection nights, 2021.
Santa’s ‘collectors’, consisting of volunteers from Colchester Round Table 367 and the RGF, enthusiastically followed Santa’s Sleigh along this year’s chosen route, the St Michael’s Estate, Colchester, collecting donations from families that turned out in their 100’s to meet up with Santa and share a Christmas chocolate, or two!
Pip George, RGF Chairman said: “It was a very heart-warming experience to see the excited and expectant faces on all the young children along the route (and their parents), many of whom followed Santa’s Sleigh for quite some time. We would like to thank the welcoming and generous residents of the St Michael’s Estate for their support, and Dan and Lee at Colchester Round Table 367 for selecting the RGF, once again, as one of its chosen charities”.
The Santa’s Sleigh event, this year taking place over eight evenings, has now been running for over 40 years. Funds raised this year will support, in addition to the RGF, Colchester Ladies Circle, Beacon House, Robin Cancer Trust, Colchester Foodbank, the Tom Bowdidge Foundation, St Helena Hospice and Next Chapter.
The St Michael’s Estate evening was kindly sponsored by Birkett Long LLP.
