We were delighted to hear from RGF grantee Reef with an update on his progress since receiving financial support from the Rob George Foundation in July 2024.
Reef applied for grant support to develop his skills, competitiveness, and general fitness and needed our support to purchase gym membership, bike pedals, competition entry fees, new frames and skatepark entry fees.
Reef has been riding Freestyle BMX since a young age. Now 18 he is enjoying a highly successful time and is currently part of the British Cycling Development Team, with his ultimate aim to represent GB at the Olympics – will wish him well!
Reef told us: “Since receiving your very welcome support I have competed at the UK National Championships where I achieved 3rd place, that automatically qualified me for the 2024 World Championships where I went on to finish in 20th place! With all the points I amassed over the year I achieved 10th place overall in the world in UCI ranking points and 4th place in the FISE World Cup series.”
