…you are 17 years old and a talented netball player. Abbie Le Brocq is already playing for the Yorkshire County side. In order to gain the best coaching she applied to join the Sixth Form at Queen Ethelburgas College in Harrogate – knowing that if accepted she will have access to a centre of excellence for netball, where the head coach for Yorkshire is also head of netball! Abbie achieved a scholarship to attend the college, but it is miles away from home and in order to take up her place will require a long and expensive bus trip there and back each day. This expense was potentially going to stop Abbie from taking up her place, which of course would, we believe, ultimately impact on her sporting development.

We felt that Abbie had already shown great initiative in getting herself access to such high class sport support – to be stopped in her tracks by excessive bus fares was something we at the RGF did not want to see. We are pleased to be able to support Abbie in this way.
