Regularly, we are asked to support grantees to fund driving lessons to assist them in learning to drive to get their life back on course.
Sam’s mum, Jackie, has been in touch to highlight what a difference the RGF’s support has made to Sam. She told us: “Sam, my 18-year-old son was diagnosed with lung cancer on the 6th of March. On the 7th of March, he was supposed to have a driving test. It did not happen!
“Sam had his right lung removed and is now cancer free. Even more determined to pass his driving test we approached the RGF to fund Sam’s driving lessons. Sam started his driving lessons with Mike from the Mike Burgess Driving School. Being a single mum, we really needed the support from the RGF, and we are eternally grateful for their support and Mike’s guidance and patience. On the 31st of August Sam passed his test. Sam is now fully independent and the icing on the cake is that being a Wrexham fan, he can now drive to all the away games. Most importantly, he is getting his life back. Thank you ❤️”
Well done, Sam!
