Once again, by kind invitation from our dear friends at Colchester Round Table 367, we had the pleasure of joining their team on Monday 19 December for the 2022 Santa’s Sleigh Christmas collection evening through the St Michaels Estate, Colchester.
A very jovial and enthusiastic Santa was also joined by a mixed team from the RGF and Birkett Long, the latter kindly sponsored the evening.
For two hours Santa and his team of helpers travelled through the St Michael’s Estate giving children and their families the opportunity to meet Santa while also collecting donations along the way for the RGF. There were also quite a few chocolates dished out for good measure!
The Santa’s Sleigh event, this year taking place over several evenings, has now been running for over 41 years. Funds raised this year will support 11 local charities.
Pip George, Rob’s dad and RGF Chairman said: “ As with last year, this event really does bring Christmas alive and seeing the smiling faces on all the young children was amazing and heart-warming, and their excitement was palpable. My fellow trustees and I would like to thank Lee and his team at Colchester Round Table 367 for selecting the RGF, once again. Also, big thanks to Birkett Long for their support, all the collectors (you know who you are), and finally, the children and families from the St Michael’s Estate for their warm welcome and generous donations.
