A marathon effort from RGF supporter, Steve

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words; in this case, it is worth more than two thousand pounds. In fact, £2,803.28 was raised by Steve Loader, who ran this year’s London Marathon for The Rob George Foundation.

Steve shared with us, “The London Marathon is the toughest event I have taken part in, but it was also the best. I couldn’t believe how much support there was for the runners from mile 1 to mile 26”.

“I was lucky enough to secure a ballot spot, but I am also thankful that the Rob George Foundation allowed me to run for them. This held me accountable and gave me a reason to get out and put the miles in, even when it was dark and wet, or my body was sore, and the last thing I wanted to do was run.”

“I hope the money raised will support those who need it most.”

RGF Trustee, David Cant said: “We are deeply grateful to Steve for his incredible effort, not for just the actual day, but for the countless hours of training and meticulous planning to ensure he could last the distance. Also, big thanks to his employer, Barclays, for their generous match funding of the first £1000 raised.”
