£215,000 and what a night!

In the famous words of the Four Season’s song.. “Oh What a Night!!!”

The RGF’s first anniversary ball took place on Saturday 3 January 2015 at the Hurlingham Club in London, which was full to capacity with 231 people assembled in their best finery and ready to party the night away.  Our sparkling reception was followed by an opening video – click here to watch.  Imagine the roar that went up as the final seconds of that video played and the amazing total of £215,000 was revealed as the amount of funds raised during the first year of the RGF.

A sumptuous dinner of roast beef was followed by a much shortened version of the 400 miles cycled by the intrepid Ride for Rob ’14 group. Enjoy our trip here.

The pace and excitement of the evening continued with the cabaret.  The senior troupe from The Lorraine George School of Dancing sang and danced their hearts out and then a dear friend of the RGF, Michael J. Fitch, did what he does so very well and kept the party going with some fabulous illusions and baffling magic.  Then came the band – Dog in a Sidecar.  They did a fantastic job, with a playlist that ensured the dance floor heaved and everyone attended breakfast the next day hoarse from singing at the top of their voices!  The final track was a thoughtfully selected “Don’t Look Back in Anger” – we don’t, and we promise Rob that we will to party on and on and on, and “be happy” as he wanted.

It was an amazing evening, with a fabulous raffle and a silent auction that raised a staggering £15,500!  Just think how many young lives we can help with that little lot!RGF First Anniversary BallYou can see more photos on our Facebook page – make sure you like it whilst you’re there, then we can keep in touch.
