RGF grantee, Adam, is back in the saddle and absolutely loving it!

Earlier this year the RGF awarded a grant to Adam to help him on his road to recovery.
Adam has been in touch and told us: “I was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of four and had four brain surgeries, followed by two years of chemotherapy, which stabilised the tumour. Unfortunately, in the last year I have had to have six weeks of radiotherapy and further brain surgery, and I now have very little movement of my left hand and foot. I love being outdoors and really wanted to be able to go out on walks with my Mum and my dog. I thought cycling would be a good solution, but I cannot ride a two-wheel bike. When I found this amazing recumbent trike, I was so excited! It is an amazing bit of kit, which does not look like it is designed for people with disabilities at all. However, it is much more expensive than a regular bike and I am so grateful that the Rob George Foundation has helped me to fund it. It has made so much difference to me and I love riding it. It is also great physio!”

David Cant, RGF Trustee said: “This is the difference the RGF, and its supporters can make to a young man’s life. A life enabling greater independence and freedom. An opportunity to exercise and share quality time with family and friends and experience real mobility when needed most – keep pedalling Adam!”

If you have been moved, motivated, or both, by Adam’s amazing story and would like to make a donation to the RGF, please visit our fundraising page where you will find various ways to support us and ensure we can continue ‘Making a difference…one individual at a time!”
