Strutt & Parker Supporting The RGF

Our dear friends at Strutt & Parker invited our trustee, David Cant, to their Eastern Region Annual Conference at Duxford Imperial War Museum on 7 November to talk about the work of the foundation. The audience of 130 listened to David talk about Rob, the inspiration and motivation behind the RGF, our objectives, how we make a difference, raise funds, our pride in what’s been achieved to date, and the importance of having fun and, of course, why we must “Be Happy.”

One of the major RGF fundraising events this year was Rob’s Big Walk 2019 with various businesses, family and friends taking on various stages of The Essex Way 82-mile walk that took place over the Summer Solstice weekend. One very notable participant was Strutt & Parker’s very own Sharnie Rogers who walked an amazing 5 stages! Sharnie, Senior Associate Director said of the RGF and Rob’s Big Walk: “I can honestly say that in my years at Strutt & Parker, I have never seen or ‘felt’ such a buzz, than what we experienced from participating in Rob’s Big Walk! As soon as we heard about the event, we just HAD to get involved, and the more people that spoke about the RGF’s message and what they stand for, the more people wanted to join in! Now, 5 months on, and after hearing Pip and Lorraine’s journey and seeing how they have used this in such an amazing, positive way, we are truly inspired, empowered by everything these extraordinary people do, and we cannot wait for the next Rob’s Big Walk, where even more of us will be getting involved.”

David said: “Seldom have I received such a warm and positive reception when talking about the work of the RGF, and the heartfelt and genuine interest in the RGF was really quite amazing. Strutt & Parker are very enthusiastic supporters of the RGF, and we look forward to working with them even more in the future – Rob’s Big Walk 2020 can’t come quick enough!”
