You are 18 years old, number two in the UK badminton under 19s. Number two is no good in terms of funding as only the number one seed gets financial assistance. The majority of your tournaments are overseas and you need help with travel and living expenses if you are to continue your sporting career.

Matthew Widdicombe (pictured here) has received a grant from the RGF in June 2014 to help with travel and accommodation costs at his first tournament of the new season, which will take place in August in Bulgaria.
