Transition time for Gemma Kersey

Gemma – supported by the RGF – is now aged 23 and we all have our fingers crossed that the massive commitment Gemma has demonstrated will see her succeed on the senior circuit.

One of our Trustees, David Cant (shown right in photo), recently met Gemma to present her grant, and her snazzy RGF T-shirt.

Gemma said:
‘The Rob George Foundation is going to truly help me with my continued journey in athletics, which I appreciate greatly. It allows me to focus more on my athletics with some financial help allowing me to race all over the country and at some international meets, which will bring me to that next level within my running career, as well as funding some treatment which is important to sustain high performance. Thank you for your kindness and help towards my ultimate goals.”

What is the key to success in athletics we asked her coach Eamonn Martin (shown left in photo).  His reply? “10 years and 10,000 hours of hard work!”
